I Can See Right Through You.

I've been sitting on this 'phenomenon' for a while now and i've seen it crop up here, there and everywhere. Of course I'm talking about the transparent rain jacket!

I first remember seeing these jackets a few years ago and never being a huge fan. However I now fully advocate them. How annoying is it when you throw together an absolutely fire outfit and then it rains and you have to either change or completely cover up your outfit and therefore obliterate your flex? These jackets have got you covered.

This raincoat by pieces uniques is kind hard to see from the photos but it hits the right spots in the right places. You know it's there but you can see exactly what's going on beneath. Practically I rate it a 10/10 for what I have said above. This may not be everyones cup of tea but it is undeniably an interesting concept for a rain jacket.

Now let's tone it down a little...

Peep the pic above-left.

This shot is from Diplomacy's fall 2018 collection so these jackets are still on a come up!

You can also see there are variations of the jacket, being semi-transparent which give more of a street flair to a fit and adds more subtlety to the jacket. While you can't see the beneath the jacket clearly it still leaves an indication of the silhouette of what you have on beneath as you can see in from Diplomacy's shot.

Over to the right now.

If you needed any more confirmation that this transparent/translucent jacket is HOT. This is Burberry's take on the translucent vibe from AW13, going back a little, yes. Can you deny it doesn't look good? No. Me either.

While we're on the topic I'm also seeing takes on transparent PVC bags cropping up all over my on my feed. Coming from high-end to high-street retailers, these are definitely making statements to fit, while also denying you any kind of privacy! However I think the contents of our bags is the least of our privacy worries in 2018...
